CONNECTIVITY
CLEARING

Ballista supports various connectivity methods depending on what interface you plan to use. Please contact Ballista Sales at 800.434.7552 for any questions regarding the appropriate connectivity option for your firm.

INTERNET
Methods Supported: Front-End
Traders may use the Ballista Java-based Front-end directly over the internet, with no additional costs incurred for connectivity. Ballista's front-end uses 128-bit SSL protection to ensure your trading remains secured at all times.

VPN
Methods Supported: FIX
A VPN session may be established to Ballista, allowing for clear-text FIX session to be instantiated over the internet with no need for direct connectivity methods.

EXTRANET PROVIDER
Methods Supported: Front-End, FIX
Ballista supports multiple financial extranet providers, and is adding support for more every day. Connections via Extranet providers are generally used for FIX-based order entry, but may be used for Ballista front-end use as well. Please contact the Ballista Sales department for information on specific Extranet provider support.

PRIVATE LINE
Methods Supported: Front-End, FIX
For a nominal monthly fee, Ballista can host your private line connection and associated on-site equipment (i.e. router) at our New York and Chicago datacenter locations. While private line connections are generally leveraged for low-latency applications using Ballista’s FIX interface, front-end sessions may also be hosted over private line connectivity.

COLOCATION
Methods Supported: FIX
For low-latency requirements generally associated with electronic liquidity providers, Ballista supports colocation of customer provided equipment at our New York and Chicago datacenters for a nominal monthly fee. FIX connectivity is supported over these direct connections, with sub-millisecond access to Ballista’s backend servers the goal of this connectivity method.
